Grow more here in the summer and buy less of them from out of state when they are out of season. We are chained to the idea of a tomato on our plate every day of the year, even if it tastes likes red cardboard. Let’s be more tomato independent!” Nearly 90% of all the tomatoes eaten in the Treasure Valley are imported from California and Mexico.
