Yet following WWII companies like Dow Chemical had to find a way to use the products that had been used in chemical warfare.  Death to Weeds is a 1947 film made by Dow Chemical to introduce the idea of chemical warfare againsts weeds.  The film opens with an indictment against weeds, telling us that weeds are nature’s outlaws and our common enemy. Dow uses farm losses caused by weeds to justify the development of a comprehensive array of herbicides.  Jennifer Miller with Northwest Center Alternatives to Pesticides will be on hand to discuss a less combative approach to another of nature’s outlaws…bugs!
