Foodfort: Grains In The Gem State

Treefort, Boise’s rising cultural icon, has added food to its line of Forts.   The Treasure Valley Food Coalition kicks off Foodfort’s Culinary Conversations on Friday, March 25 at 3:30 with a new look at an old crop:  Grains in the Gem State.  Idaho farmers involved in heirloom wheat, polenta corn, food barley, and teff will share their perspectives on this new frontier of the local food movement.   James Beard Award nominee Mike Runsvold of Acme Bake Shop adds his insights on baking for taste and nutrition.

We have a few slots available for selling tokens in the FF/AF tent.  If you volunteer you get the opportunity to purchase a Treefort pass for just $30 which is an amazing deal.  Training for volunteers is next week so if you are interested send an email tossmedlin@gmail.com and she will get you the link that will show you the open slots.

Here’s what you need to know about volunteering:
Sign up for at least two shifts if you wish to receive a free Treefort T-shirt and a $30 5-day pass
We will be holding a mandatory training for volunteers which will last approximately 30-60 minutes the week prior (March 14). This will ensure that everyone can jump right into their shifts! We’ll make it fun :)
Let us know what kind of shift you are interested in.  The options are:
•Main Stage: volunteering for a shift labeled “Main Stage” will involve selling beer tokens in the main stage area. This is a great way to interact with many people and see the headlining performance!
•Alefort: volunteering for a shift labeled “Alefort” will entail selling beer and food tokens in the Alefort tent. Heck, there might even be a few tokens in it for you :)
•Fortfort: volunteering for a shift labeled “Foodfort” will entail perimeter watch, crowd control, and wristband checking for events going on in the Foodfort tent (behind Alefort).
